Other duties include technical assistance; education of users of equipment; special projects relating to major installations of equipment, pre-purchase evaluations, oversight of vendor services, and assistance with budget preparations. Essential Functions - Establishes and maintains courteous, cooperative relations when interacting with other personnel, patients and visitors. - Utilize good customer service skills such as active listening, communicating actions, following up in a timely manner with others, and projecting a professional and positive image. - Directs or escorts employees, staff, visitors, and patients to all areas of the hospital, as appropriate. - Service: - Monitors, diagnoses and corrects security system equipment problems. Insures fully functioning systems in the department on a daily basis. - Performs routine inspections and maintenance of security system equipment, verifying proper function and ensuring the daily functionality of security system equipment. - Performs a variety of rounds, inspections, general diagnostic and maintenance activities including, cleaning, preventive maintenance, alterations and repairs to equipment, following manufacturer's recommendations and departmental established procedures. - Repairs a wide variety of security systems equipment maximizing equipment performance, safety, availability and minimizing the cost of repair. Troubleshoots logically and demonstrates a multi-disciplinary approach to problem solving. Uses test equipment knowledgeably. Demonstrates mechanical skill. - Inspects security systems equipment for proper operation and working condition; maintains routine records and determines type and extent of malfunction of equipment and, as necessary, adjusts, disassembles and repairs or replaces parts or components, reassembles and tests for proper operation. - Reports more serious problems to Security Systems Supervisor for instructions or maintenance scheduling. - Performs and manages assigned tasks including preventive maintenance and on-demand work orders within the established time frames while meeting departmental expectations for quality of work, documentation of actions taken, and effectively communicated with customers, peers and leadership. - Installs, terminates and tests equipment as per specifications and in conjunction with any pertaining building and or electrical codes. - Repair, restore and test all systems per specifications and in conjunction with any pertaining building and or electrical codes. - Maintains systems inventory, drawings and develops preventive maintenance tasks of systems they are assigned to. - Reviews and completes required reports and performs recordkeeping activities. - Quality & Safety: - Evaluate work assignments for potential hazards, need for lockout/tagout, and need for personal protective equipment (PPE). - Perform work following established safety protocols, Infection Control processes, above ceiling permit process, rated assembly procedures and barriers management protocols. - Identifies and follows departmental procedures in notifying appropriate personnel of emergency or problematic situations. - Contacts vendors and communicates specifications or repairs. Follows-up and evaluates contractors work. Ensures contractor practices CHW policies or practices. - Oversees performance of services provided by manufacturers and third party service providers (both on contract and on an as needed basis) ensuring compliance with contracts, timely service, adherence to Infection control, above ceiling and rated barriers policies, appropriate documentation, and appropriate billing. - Attend assigned training sessions and actively participate in competency evaluation process to continuously learn and improve performance. - Finance: - Orders parts and supplies accurately and timely to expedite repairs and maintain stock levels.
