About the role

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-09: One year of specialized experience which includes knowledge of and skill in applying an extensive body of command post regulations, methods, and procedures, to perform a wide variety of command post assignments and to handle a wide range of situations, make arrangements, provide advice, that requires authoritative knowledge of various C2 regulation. Knowledge of SORTS directives/instructions and ability to correlate and analyze a variety of SORTS and other operational reports data and processes. Knowledge of air operations systems, flight operations, communications, security, and weather data programs. Ability to use automated software to produce graphs, charts, and slides showing program or operational mission status. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the GS-07 grade/level position or equivalent in the federal service. OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. FEDERALTIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of command and control, command post training programs, operational reporting, mission monitoring, and emergency actions. Knowledge of security instructions, practices, and procedures. Knowledge of researching, collecting, analyzing, organizing and preparing various data for reports and presentations. Knowledge of federal and civilian disaster response agencies, their capabilities and relationships governing the military. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. OTHER SIGNIFICANT FACTS: This is an ART enlisted position. The incumbent is required to meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements. Work schedule will be aligned to allow incumbent to fully participate in unit training assemblies. Regular assignments are primarily ART duties; however, may also be assigned some non-ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities. May be required to fly in commercial or military aircraft for performance of TDY. Must be able to obtain and retain Top Secret (TS/SCI) security clearance. Must gain and retain certification IAW AFI 10-207 as supplemented. May be required to work shift work or uncommon tours of duty with limited/no notice. Position works in a high stress environment, requiring rapid response decisions. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
