Data Center IT Engineer

About the role

We are hiring IT Engineers across multiple levels (Junior and Senior) to support and manage Internet Data Centre (IDC) operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the stability, availability and continuous improvement of data centre infrastructure and IT operations. The appointment level (Junior IT Engineer or Senior IT Engineer) will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience and technical competency.

Responsibilities

• Perform 24×7 or 5×8 shift duties according to operational requirements.
• Respond to incidents and execute work orders in accordance with SLA requirements.
• Monitor IDC equipment and environment to ensure stable operations.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Execute and manage tickets according to SOPs and operational procedures.
• Troubleshoot server, network and infrastructure issues.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues.
• Participate in project implementation, deployment and acceptance.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
• Additional Responsibilities (Senior Level)
• Candidates appointed as Senior IT Engineers will additionally:
• Lead technical troubleshooting and incident management.
• Review operational processes and implement improvements.
• Perform risk assessment and establish preventive measures.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams during critical incidents.
• Lead project implementation and technical delivery.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering or related disciplines.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience for Junior IT Engineer.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience for Senior IT Engineer.
• Experience in IDC/Data Centre operations, Linux/Windows servers, networking or infrastructure support will be an advantage.
• Good analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Able to perform shift work when required.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
