Position Summary The Aircraft Avionics Technician is responsible for performing maintenance, preventive maintenance, and alterations on aircraft avionics systems in accordance with FAA regulations and Clay Lacy Aviation standards. This role ensures all work is completed efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with approved technical data while supporting a safe and professional work environment. Location: Van Nuys, CA Shift: Mon-Fri 7am-4pm Compensation: $36.37 - $46.00 per hour; eligible for comprehensive benefits package. Duties and Responsibilities Perform maintenance, preventive maintenance, and alterations as directed. Utilize current and approved technical data for all work performed. Document all maintenance activities, discrepancies, and corrective actions in accordance with FAA and company requirements. Ensure all parts and materials are properly received, inspected, and meet shelf-life and airworthiness requirements prior to installation. Verify calibration status and condition of all tooling prior to use. Accurately document removal and installation of aircraft components. Identify and document discrepancies using appropriate forms and procedures. Adhere to all company policies, FAA regulations, and OSHA safety requirements. Maintain proficiency in avionics systems, tools, and acceptable maintenance practices. Support and promote a safe, efficient, and professional work environment. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives as directed. Maintain reliable attendance and flexibility to support operational needs, including shifts and weekends. Travel as required for training or operational support. Perform other duties and tasks as assigned. Competencies and Skills Build strong relationships and deliver customer-focused solutions. Essential Job Functions Comply with all safety requirements and company policies. Maintain regular and reliable attendance. Pass pre-employment background check and drug screening. Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders. Complete required training and maintain applicable certifications. Follow written and verbal instructions and work independently when needed. Work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and overtime as required. Physical Requirements Work in variable weather and environmental conditions, including exposure to noise, fumes, and dust. Stand, walk, bend, stoop, and climb for extended periods. Use ladders, stand, and access equipment to work on aircraft. Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50-75 lbs. Perform tasks requiring hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills. Cognitive Requirements Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Basic computer proficiency. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment. Travel Expectations Occasional travel may be required for training or operational support. Required Education and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent required Minimum of 3-5 years of aircraft avionics experience required. Demonstrated experience supporting Part 91 and/or Part 135 aircraft operations required. Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License preferred. FCC License preferred.
