Pathology Coordinator Sarum Road Hospital 37.5 Hours & Permanent Salary: Up to £30,000.00 per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification) Sarum Road Hospital in Winchester is part of Circle Health Group , Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country. We have an opportunity for a Pathology Coordinator to join their team of staff in the pathology department. This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern. Duties of this role include: Oversee the day-to-day coordination of pathology services, ensuring timely and accurate processing of diagnostic tests. Liaise with internal departments and external laboratories to manage test requests, collections, and result reporting. Act as the first point of contact for pathology-related queries from clinical staff, consultants, and laboratory providers. Ensure results are communicated promptly to the appropriate clinical teams, escalating abnormal or urgent results as necessary. Ensure adherence to sample handling protocols, infection prevention standards, and relevant health and safety procedures. Support audit processes, incident reporting, and implementation of service improvement actions. Applicants should meet the following criteria: Previous experience in a healthcare, laboratory, or diagnostic services environment. Strong organisational and administrative skills, with attention to detail. Effective communication skills and ability to liaise with clinical and non-clinical colleagues. Basic understanding of medical terminology and diagnostic processes. Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and manage time effectively.
