Job Summary IPEX Edmonton PVC Plant has an opening for an Operator 1 position. The successful candidate will focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Principal Responsibilities: With training, assist in the line operation of extruders and associated equipment. Follow and review all plant policies and practices to ensure safety, quality, service and cost objectives are met. Ensure work area is clean and tidy prior to any rotation or shift end. Responsible for performing duties in a safe and practical manner and ensure that your workspace is free of hazards Package pipe in accurate pallet sizes and quantities and document production. Strap crates tightly and neatly. Inspect product to ensure product meets standard before packaging. Ensure packaging has appropriate label, weight, quantity, and quality. Use basic hand tools including pneumatic nail guns, saws, micrometers, calipers and other measuring devices. Identify, transfer, and load material for production; report scrap in compliance with work instructions. Inspect and report potential unsafe or hazardous conditions Maintain acceptable housekeeping, environmental and safe working conditions Help implement and sustain Manufacturing Excellence program (including 5S program). Other duties as assigned
