Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Mechanical Resident Engineer in the plant, responsible for assigned projects. Responsible for design related problem solving activities, risk assessments, and plant related issues. Work on improvement projects as an extended resource to the VSO (Value Stream Organization) such as scrap reduction, downtime, FOR (fall-out-rate), IDC (internal defect cost) and improvements on line utilization. Support and assist on plant/ supplier related issues such as tooling replacement (evaluation of local sources for mechanical components), and supplier delivery issues. Assess and provide guidance from development perspective to commodity related issues such as plastics, die-cast, stamping, etc. Technical responsibility for cost reduction initiatives such as component localization in North America and RPP (Ratio Project Planning). Assess technical impact of product deviation from the mechanical side. Education: BS Degree in Mechanical, Electromechanical or Mechatronics Engineering. Working Experience: - Preferable 2-3 years in similar roles Soft Skills: Creative, proactive, analytic, leadership and good negotiation skills, teamwork and good communication skills. Ability to work under pressure, literal thinker Technical Abilities: - Computer skills (MS Office), presentation skills - Problem Solving - FMEA knowledge basics - DRBFM knowledge basics - GD&T and Drawing interpretations - Tolerance Stack - Reliability/statistics basics - Problem Solving techniques - SAP knowledge - Risk Assessment Methodologies Problem solving Leading internal and external communication Stable, consistent transparency of risks & problems Realistic, complete planning of the entire project Leading internal and external communication Ability to negotiate Diplomatic skills and assertiveness Organizing internal and external escalation, crisis management Integration of line management Integration and motivation of the project team "Applicable vacancy for referral program"
