The Lead Process Utilities Engineer is responsible for overseeing the discipline at a project level and managing the discipline budget on projects of all sizes and complexity. This role requires a deep understanding of document development and field implementation across all project phases. The Lead Engineer excels at coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, managing multiple complex tasks, setting priorities, and directing the work of others. The Senior Process Utilities Engineer brings extensive experience and technical leadership to projects of varying size and complexity. This role demands mastery of document development and field implementation throughout all phases, as well as the ability to manage complex tasks, establish priorities, and guide teams effectively. Senior Engineers are trusted advisors who ensure technical excellence and drive project success. The successful candidate can be located either in St. Louis, Kansas City, or Columbus, OH. Core Responsibilities Plan and direct discipline work and manage budgets for large, complex projects. Collaborate with Project Managers on proposals, man-hour planning, and scheduling for discipline scope. Lead interactions with clients, internal teams, and external partners. Ensure technical accuracy and quality of deliverables, including design calculations and documentation. Direct and mentor design and engineering staff (Entry-Level to Senior) to meet client expectations and project goals. Deliver internal training presentations on discipline-specific design and engineering topics. Oversee or lead complex activities such as: Utility room layout development Pipe routing space planning Capacity planning and expansion strategies Vendor package management Risk assessments (HAZOP, HCCP, etc.) 3D model reviews and coordination Site walkdowns and field reporting Commissioning and startup
