Requirements

  • You have a minimum of 5 years of experience in graphic design, art direction, or brand design roles within an agency or in-house creative team
  • You have a strong portfolio demonstrating brand systems, campaign design, and digital-first thinking
  • You have a refined eye for typography, composition, and visual storytelling
  • You're comfortable working across a range of formats, including social, digital marketing, product storytelling, and editorial content
  • You collaborate naturally with writers, strategists, and producers to bring integrated creative ideas to life
  • You're creative and innovative; you love to build great new things that are fresh and unique while staying on brand
  • You're agile, and motivated by a fast-paced and ever changing environment

Join The Crew We are hiring a Design Lead to join our Creative team. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Creative and takes Away further by translating brand strategy and storytelling into visually compelling creative across campaigns, product launches, and always-on marketing. As a key creative contributor, you'll help bring Away's brand world to life through thoughtful design systems, strong art direction, and refined visual execution. You'll collaborate closely with writers, producers, and cross-functional partners to ensure every touchpoint feels cohesive, premium, and unmistakably Away. What you'll do as the Design Lead You'll lead design execution across campaigns, product launches, and brand storytelling initiatives across digital, social, eCommerce, retail, and paid channels You'll partner closely with the Senior Manager, Creative, to translate strategic concepts into cohesive visual execution and contribute to scalable creative assets You'll develop design solutions that balance creativity with clarity, ensuring the brand remains both expressive and highly functional across platforms You'll collaborate with writers and brand narrative partners to ensure storytelling and design work seamlessly together You'll maintain a high bar for craft, typography, layout, and visual detail across all work produced by the team You'll contribute to the evolution of Away's brand identity and design systems as the brand continues to grow globally You'll partner closely with freelance designers and agency collaborators, helping guide the work while fostering a culture of collaboration, experimentation, and creative excellence.
