The Medical College of Wisconsin's Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology and Oncology is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services for the patients in our outpatient services. This position is located at our Froedtert/MCW Cancer Center Community sites, primarily at Froedtert Mequon Health Center - Outpatient Cancer Clinic with potential coverage at FMLH and other community sites as needed. In this role you will: Collaborates with interdisciplinary health care teams in diagnosis and treatment of conditions requiring Hematology/Oncology and Gynecologic Oncology intervention in an outpatient environment as a member of the Hematology and Oncology ambulatory service. Writes accurate and timely progress notes, procedure notes, and/or admission and transfer orders. Orders, performs, and interprets screening and diagnostic procedures and tests, and appropriately communicates and documents information. Privileged to perform procedures beyond core as identified by the Hematology/Oncology and Gynecologic Oncology services. Facilitates and communicates with patient, family and staff to promote continuity of care across the continuum of care. Attend required training and meet key regulatory requirements, including those of the privileging institution, CMS, and the Joint Commission. Evaluates quality outcomes for the patients receiving care of this team through participation in the development of quality indicators and outcomes dashboard. Acquires information on the most current developments and trends in the Physician Assistant field and/or Nurse Practitioner field, through educational programs, in-services, professional associates, and current literature. Participates in ongoing clinical research projects related to the field of Hematology/Oncology and Gynecologic Oncology. Core Advanced Practice Responsibilities: Performs comprehensive histories and physical exams, identifies normal and abnormal findings, including physical, cognitive and psychosocial status. Orders and interprets laboratory and diagnostic tests. Develops pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical treatment plans. Monitors effectiveness of plan of care. Educates patients on disease and treatment plans. Performs procedures as trained and appropriately credentialed. Documents within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and completes other necessary documents. Collaborates and/or consults with physicians and other health care providers as appropriate.
