About the role

Applications are invited for an appointment as Lecturer in Computer Science at the University of Galway. Up to two posts will be filled as a result of this recruitment. For these posts, we are seeking candidates who can demonstrate a world-class research profile, or its potential from industry experience, as well as verifiable evidence of teaching excellence in one in the following specialism; A: Cybersecurity or Secure Dev Ops B: Next Generation Hardware or Network Architectures It is intended that each successful candidate will be aligned with a different specialism. The successful candidates will actively contribute to the University's strategic vision for Computer Science, and will participate in research, teaching, student project supervision, and programme administration across a complementary portfolio of our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Stage one will involve applicants being screened for invitation to the final interviews with a strong emphasis on communication effectiveness. Based on the outcome of this first stage, a second stage interview will then be held. Salary: €65,552 - €104,573 p.a (applicable to new entrants effective from January, 2011) This appointment will be made on the Lecturer scale in line with current Government pay policy and in accordance with the terms and conditions of the University's Remuneration policy.
