We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Enterprise-Wide Risk to lead our second-line risk oversight capability. This role is based in Basingstoke, with some travel to London, on a hybrid capacity 3 days a week in the office and 2 days at home. The role and what you'll lead and deliver: This is a senior leadership role responsible for delivering independent challenge, governance and enterprise-wide risk insight across Operational Risk, Financial Crime, Treasury Risk, Model Risk, Technology/Cyber and broader non-financial risk areas. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring robust risk frameworks, effective governance and clear visibility of emerging risks across the organisation. Leading a focused and high-impact team, you will work closely with senior stakeholders, Executive Committees and the Board to shape and strengthen the Bank's risk profile and resilience. Enterprise Risk Oversight Lead the Bank's second-line Enterprise-Wide Risk oversight capability Provide independent challenge across operational, financial crime, treasury, model and technology/cyber risk disciplines Drive the development and maturity of enterprise-wide risk frameworks and governance Ensure alignment with risk appetite and regulatory expectations Enable visibility and escalation of cross-functional and systemic risk themes Treasury & Model Risk Oversee second-line Treasury and Model Risk governance frameworks Review and challenge risk appetite metrics, stress testing outputs and management information Oversee model governance processes including inventories, validation tracking and periodic reviews Escalate material risks, control weaknesses and governance deficiencies Operational Risk & Financial Crime Lead oversight of Operational Risk and Financial Crime frameworks, deputising for the MLRO where required Challenge incident trends, control effectiveness and remediation activities Oversee operational resilience, outsourcing and cyber/technology risk themes from a second-line perspective Provide enterprise-wide insight into Financial Crime risks and control environments Drive identification and escalation of emerging risk themes Governance & Reporting Deliver enterprise-wide risk reporting and thematic insight to Executive and Board committees Support effective governance through senior forum participation Oversee issue tracking, remediation monitoring and governance reporting processes Ensure timely escalation of material or systemic risks Leadership Lead, develop and mentor a high-performing Enterprise-Wide Risk team Allocate oversight responsibilities across specialist and analytical resources Foster a culture of constructive challenge, collaboration and continuous improvement Contribute to broader Risk Division initiatives and regulatory engagement What you'll bring: Essential Significant second-line risk leadership experience within financial services or banking Degree in a quantitative, finance or related discipline Strong understanding of enterprise and non-financial risk management frameworks Proven experience overseeing Operational Risk and wider enterprise risk disciplines Working knowledge of Treasury, Model Risk and Financial Crime governance frameworks Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills at Executive and Board level Experience presenting to senior governance forums and committees Strong communication, strategic thinking and leadership capability Why join Castle Trust Bank?
