Position Summary: The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for effectively and efficiently maintaining, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment, as well as performing preventive maintenance following corporate standards for quality and safety. Position Summary: Demonstrate commitment to safety and perform job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures Demonstrate commitment to quality and perform job duties in adherence to GMP guidelines Train other employees (as directed or needed) Communicate effectively with associated personnel (both verbally and in writing, speaking clearly in English and/or Spanish) in all phases of the operation and processes Operate cranes, truck or motor vehicles Operate fork lifts and/or powered industrial equipment Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility's equipment Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision Play an active role in the maintenance and cleanliness of work area Understand department communication systems, schedules, time/attendance system and job reporting requirements Perform other duties as assigned by management/supervisors Performance Measures and Outcomes Adherence to safety policies and procedures Quality of work Production goals Education/Certification Level Desired High school diploma or equivalent AA Degree Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Maintenance Work Experience Desired Completion of a craft apprenticeship Production maintenance experience 4+ years of manufacturing experience Mechanical & electrical and industrial skills Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Safety sensitive position - ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner Ability to work overtime and weekends as required based upon the needs of the business Ability to work on a rotating shift as needed Ability to effectively work in teams Ability to work in a production-based environment with moving equipment and people Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of roles Able to read, write and understand English Must be highly motivated and able to work independently Ability to read, comprehend and, where necessary, complete: blueprints, electrical schematics, operating and maintenance manuals, work orders, repair parts requests Ability to operate and understand measuring equipment such as: standard or metric tape measure, micrometer, caliper, scale, VOM (Volt/Ohm Meter) Advanced knowledge of machine operations and mechanical functions Ability to disassemble, repair, and troubleshoot plant machines Ability to overhaul, rebuild and troubleshoot plant machines Essentials to the Position: Join our team and be part of a company that started in 1849!
