Responsibilities
- This role ensures scalable, secure, and high-quality data solutions across the organization, aligning data initiatives with business objectives and technology roadmaps.

- Enterprise Data Architecture
- Define and maintain the enterprise data architecture vision, roadmap, and standards

- Lead and own MDM (Master data Management) enabled by Stibo Systems Platform
- Data Governance & Quality
- Establish and enforce data governance frameworks, policies, and standards
- Partner with data stewards to improve data quality, lineage, and metadata management
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and security standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA)
- Lead the newly established DMO (Data Management Office)
- Data Platforms & Technology
- Architect modern data platforms (cloud-first preferred: Azure, AWS, Databrics, Stibo Sistems)
- Lead design of batch and real-time data pipelines (ETL/ELT, streaming)
- Evaluate and select data tools, platforms, and technologies
- Optimize performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency
- Integration & Interoperability
- Design enterprise integration patterns (APIs, messaging, event-driven architectures)
- Ensure seamless data exchange between applications, SaaS, and legacy systems
- Define canonical data models and data domains
- Leadership & Collaboration
- Provide technical leadership to data engineers, modelers, and architects
- Partner with business stakeholders, product teams, and IT leadership
- Mentor junior architects and promote data-driven culture
- Analytics & AI Enablement
- Enable self-service analytics, BI, and advanced analytics capabilities
- Support AI/ML initiatives through well-architected data pipelines and feature stores
- Ensure data is accessible, trustworthy, and usable
- Location & Travel Expectations :
- This role may be based out of the Scout Motors corporate headquarters in Charlotte, NC .
- This role requires 4-5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events.
- Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- 12+ years of experience in data architecture, engineering, or related roles
