Responsibilities

  • Ensure prompt and courteous service is extended to both internal and external clients
  • Have a complete understanding and knowledge of hotel's services and facilities
  • Assist in qualifying leads, researching space, entering bookings in Opera Sales and Event Management, and responding to client(s) either personally or by directing to the appropriate salesperson(s)
  • Preparation of contracts and proposals
  • Record and track leads for responses and due dates
  • Preparation of deposit invoices and tracking of deposits received from clients
  • Verify group commissions and prepare requests for commission payments
  • Assist Sales Managers in conducting site inspections of the Hotel
  • Maintain/order current printed sales and promotional collaterals and office supplies
  • Coordinate with other departments within the hotel to ensure distribution of important information
  • Prepare and disseminate routine daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
  • Attend all sales meetings
  • Obtain and record group histories
  • Provide administrative duties as required by Sales Managers and Director of Group Sales
  • Regular Sales Office phone coverage
  • Assist with preparation and follow-up of sales trips including expense reporting
  • Assist with duties of Sales Managers when they are absent from the office
  • Maintain an organized work environment
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Minimum High School Diploma, Business School and/or Hotel School Diploma preferred
  • Bachelor's or Associate's college degree preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Past hospitality or travel industry experience (internal or external) an asset
  • Proven competency in the area of organization and communication skills
  • Ability to work without direct supervision
  • Pleasant out-going personality/good interpersonal skills
  • Excellent command of the English language
  • Desire to pursue a career in Hospitality sales and marketing preferred
  • Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in the United States. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining U.S. work authorization.
