Responsibilities
- Coordinate and support grievance administration, ensuring timelines, documentation, and follow-up activities are managed effectively.
- Assist with workplace investigations through information gathering, note-taking, documentation review, and preparation of supporting materials.
- Provide guidance to leaders on routine collective agreement interpretation, including scheduling, overtime, premiums, leaves, attendance management, and progressive discipline processes.
- Maintain accurate labour relations records and databases, including grievances, disciplinary matters, and Letters of Understanding.
- Compile labour relations metrics and reports to support trend analysis and decision-making.
- Coordinate labour-management committee meetings, including agenda preparation, meeting logistics, minute-taking, and action item tracking.
- Support collective bargaining preparation through research, data collection, and organization of background materials.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with union representatives, operational leaders, and Human Resources colleagues.
- What you bring to the role:
- Undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Labour Relations, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 1-3 years of Human Resources experience, preferably within a unionized environment.
- Exposure to labour relations processes such as grievance administration, collective agreement interpretation, workplace investigations, or labour-management committees.
- Knowledge of applicable employment and labour legislation, including the Employment Standards Act, Labour Relations Act, and Human Rights Code.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain professionalism in sensitive situations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including the judgment to identify issues requiring escalation.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Healthcare and/or multi-site organizational experience is considered an asset.
- CHRP or CHRL designation, or progress toward certification, is considered an asset.
