About the role

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Revenue Accountant to play a critical role on our Revenue Accounting Operations team - a part of our overall Contract to Cash Process. Reporting to the Revenue Accounting Operations Manager , this individual will be responsible for the accurate and timely recognition of revenue across our diverse portfolio of product and service contracts, with a strong emphasis on government Cost-Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF) arrangements . This role is also responsible for the accurate and timely recognition of Firm Fixed Price (FFP) project-based revenue, costs, and margins, playing a pivotal role in translating operational project performance into financial statement results. The Senior Revenue Accountant will leverage Oracle Fusion Projects to manage the end-to-end project accounting lifecycle, including the review and analysis of Estimate-at-Completion (EAC) templates provided by business partners. This individual will act as a key liaison, bridging the gap between Business Line FP&A teams and Corporate Accounting to ensure financial results accurately reflect project execution and strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Technical Accounting to ensure revenue is recognized in accordance with ASC 606 for new and modified customer contracts.
  • Administer and account for various contract types, with a primary focus on Cost-Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF), Time & Materials (T&M), Cost Reimbursed (CR) and Firm Fixed Price (FFP) government contracts.
  • Provide guidance and support to cross-functional teams on revenue recognition matters, including contract review, revenue forecasting, and deal structuring. This role requires collaboration with Program Managers, Finance Program Analysts, and various other departments.
  • Execute revenue close procedures efficiently and accurately within tight monthly, quarterly, and annual deadlines.
  • Monitor contract funding, limits, modifications, closeouts, and progress to completion, to ensure accurate revenue recognition.
  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies.
  • Collaborate with Project Management, Contracts, and Pricing teams to understand contract terms and conditions, and provide guidance on revenue recognition impacts.
  • Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting to support strategic decision-making by senior management and FP&A.
  • Prepare and review complex revenue journal entries, ensuring proper classification and supporting documentation.
  • Look around the corner to mitigate future potential issues and mitigate actual issues with optimized processes and controls.
  • Support internal and external audit requests, including DCAA audits, by providing detailed documentation and explanations.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within the revenue accounting cycle to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Act as a power user of our ERP system (Oracle Fusion Cloud) for all revenue-related activities, including contract setup, project accounting, Estimate at Completion (EAC) / Estimate to Completion (ETC) management, and accounting for project costs.
  • REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in revenue accounting, with significant exposure to ASC 606.
  • Demonstrated experience with government contracting, including EAC / ETC analysis, and an in-depth understanding of Cost-Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF) contract accounting is strongly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with a large-scale ERP system (e.g., Oracle, SAP) and its Project Accounting functionalities. Experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud and Salesforce is strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy, especially in a fast- paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and investigative skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts clearly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, complex formulas, data modeling).
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled
