This role sits within the second line of defence and contributes to providing independent insight on the efficiency of procurement governance frameworks, including Procurement Authorities, Category Management Policy, and associated procedures. You will play a key role in executing assurance reviews, analysing findings, and supporting the identification of themes, risks, and improvement opportunities across procurement. You will work with You will be part of the Procurement Assurance team within Safety, Risk & Compliance, supporting delivery of second line assurance activities across procurement. Partnering closely with the Manager - Procurement Assurance and team members to execute assurance reviews and develop insights. Key stakeholders include procurement teams, Policy & Governance, Ethics & Compliance, Internal Audit, Risk and stakeholders - supporting testing, validation, and follow-up of control efficiency and compliance outcomes. What you will deliver Execute procurement assurance activities, including control testing, reviews, and validation of policy compliance across defined scope areas. Assess adherence to key procurement policies and procedures (e.g. Procurement Authorities, Category Management Policy) and identify gaps or inconsistencies. Analyse findings from assurance activities to identify themes, risks, and opportunities for improvement. Support the development of clear and structured assurance outputs, including reports, summaries, and insight packs for stakeholders Contribute to root cause analysis to understand drivers of non-conformance and control weaknesses. Track and follow up on assurance actions to support timely and effective remediation Maintain high-quality documentation and audit trails to support re-performance and governance. requirements. Contribute to continuous improvement of assurance methodologies, tools, and processes. What you will need to be successful (experience and qualifications) 1) Functional Knowledge & Experience Experience supporting assurance, audit, or control testing activities within procurement, finance, or governance environments. Understanding of procurement policies, procedures, and control frameworks, and how they are applied in practice. Ability to review documentation, transactions, or processes and assess compliance against defined standards. 2) Skills & Behaviours Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess control efficiency and identify issues or inconsistencies. Structured and clear communication, particularly in documenting findings and supporting assurance outputs. High attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and quality of testing, documentation, and reporting. Proactive and collaborative, working effectively with stakeholders to support assurance delivery and improvement actions. 3) Leadership & Impact Takes ownership of assurance activities and delivers them to a high standard, with clear documentation and traceability. Builds effective relationships with procurement and business stakeholders to support delivery of assurance reviews. Contributes to strengthening governance and compliance outcomes by identifying issues and supporting remediation.
