About the role

This Business Manager (U.S. Antarctic Program) position is located in the Antarctic Infrastructure Logistics (AIL) Section, Office of Polar Programs (OPP). The primary purpose of the position is to provide management and oversight of business operations for the AIL Section and to help ensure that business infrastructure is responsive to Program functions and aligned with budget resources. This announcement will close on 05/27/2026 or once 100 applications are received, whichever occurs first. To qualify at the GS-15 level, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 Level federal service planning, managing, overseeing, and critically evaluating business operations for a program, including financial, contracting, and audit activities. Examples of specialized experience include: Conducting financial audits. Completing audit remediation activities. Developing and documenting business management policies ensuring compliance. Implementing budgetary and financial policies. Serving as a Contracting Officer's Representative (COR). Experience refers to paid/unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training/experience that translates directly to paid work. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
