Prosthetic Clerk

About the role

This position is located in the Prosthetic Treatment Center at the Audie L. Murphy Memorial Veterans Hospital. They perform administrative support work for the care and treatment given to the patients such as issuing prosthetic items, checking in patients, maintaining patient files, and maintaining medical records in the Prosthetic Treatment Center. To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 05/18/2026. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-04 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: interpreting medical terminology, diagnoses and procedural codes; sanitizing used/returned equipment, and communicating in person, by telephone, or in writing with patients, their families or caretakers, physicians, clinicians, vendor representatives, other providers as well as Medical Center Staff. OR, Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have 4 years above High School. OR, Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education beyond 4 years of High School.
