Warehouse Operative

About the role

Working in a fast-paced rapidly developing family run distribution business in a warehouse role with plenty of variety both working and talking to customers face to face and to perform a variety of duties such as assemble customer orders checking for accuracy / completeness, picking, packing, Unloading and loading of delivery vehicles and shipping containers. Stock rotation and refilling shelves with products. We are a rapidly developing product-based distribution and on-line selling business. Responsibilities

• Stock shelves and rotate inventory as needed
• Load and unload trucks with incoming and outgoing materials
• Utilize mechanical knowledge to operate warehouse machinery
• Handle materials with care to prevent damage
• Perform heavy lifting as required
• -Unloading shipping contaniers
• Operate forklifts safely and efficiently
• Assist in picking and packing orders
• Ability to build pallets for shipping
• Van deliverys and moving stock from our storage unit

Requirements

• A person with good flexibility, able to adapt to a variety of tasks and processes,
• Be a dynamic action-oriented team player that is self-motivated and confident in 'making it happen' by working with others.
• Some experience working in a similar warehouse, distribution setting will be helpful.
• You should be self-motivating, enthusiastic, willing to learn new skills to develop yourself and the business.
• Good levels of IT and numeracy skills are preferred, being confident and able to communicate clearly and positively with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
• Summary of ideal skills and knowledge.
• A flexible adaptable person with good interpersonal skills and a customer service attitude.
• Be a contributor with a positive attitude willing to learn and progress.
• Previous warehouse experience within a distribution environment, picking and packing desirable.
• Forklift Truck Licence
• Driving Licence
• Good communication skills both written and verbal are essential, including the use of a telephone.
• Assist where required or as requested by a manager, able to maintain a clean organised environment by cleaning, sweeping / rubbish removal.
