Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and operational oversight for advising services within the Fermanian School of Business
  • Support advising operations for graduate and traditional undergraduate business programs

  • Generate and analyze reports related to advising activity, enrollment trends, retention, and student progress
  • Support annual catalog updates and ensure curricular changes are accurately reflected
  • Lead professional development and support advising best practices and institutional policy awareness
  • Coordinate advising-related events and student engagement initiatives including Advising Chapel
  • Manage student and faculty grievance processes with professionalism and confidentiality
  • Collaborate with Records, Student Success, faculty, deans, and campus partners to support effective advising operations and student outcomes
  • Identify opportunities to improve advising services, student satisfaction, and operational effectiveness
  • Perform additional duties and special projects in support of FSB advising operations and strategic priorities

Requirements

  • Passion for supporting student success and delivering exceptional advising experiences
  • Strong organizational and operational leadership skills with the ability to manage complex academic processes
  • Ability to guide advising initiatives while supporting continuous improvement and student-centered service
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, faculty, staff, and leadership
  • Experience analyzing data, identifying trends, and supporting strategic decision-making
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex student and academic situations with professionalism and care
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, consistency, and confidentiality
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships across departments and educational sites
  • Knowledge and experience working with a diverse population is preferred
  • Two years of administrative experience, including core competencies in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Preferred experience in student advising, student relationship management, or related academic experience.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills with the ability to compose correspondence using proper English, grammar, punctuation, syntax, formatting, and professional etiquette
