Manager / Assistant Manager, Design (HVAC Chiller Plant Systems)

Responsibilities

• Lead site surveys and assess technical requirements and constraints
• Develop and optimise system designs, including equipment sizing, selection, and configuration
• Perform simulations to evaluate design options for efficiency, cost, and operational feasibility
• Support Business Development by providing technical solutions for tenders and proposals
• Conduct Green Mark gap analysis and recommend improvements to achieve certification targets
• Prepare and submit applications for approvals, legislations, and grants on behalf of clients
• Ensure compliance with building regulations, codes, and sustainability standards
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align design intent and project requirements
• Communicate technical solutions clearly to clients, internal teams, and management
• Identify opportunities to improve design processes and best practices
• To succeed in this role, you should have:
• Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or related field (preferably sustainability-related)
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
• Mandatory certifications: BCA Energy Auditor, GMAP/GMAAP, SCEM
• Strong ACMV design, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills

Additional Information

The Manager / Assistant Manager, Design is responsible for designing and optimising efficient, cost-effective chiller plant and airside systems to support both project acquisition and delivery. The role works closely with Business Development and project teams to develop technical solutions, facilitate regulatory approvals and Green Mark certification, and ensure sustainability objectives are met throughout the project lifecycle.
