UQ Business School within the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law Full-time (100%), permanent position Base salary will be in the range $117,120.53 - $138,769.70 (Level B) or $143,099.52 - $164,748.70 (Level C) + 17% Super Based at our St Lucia Campus About this opportunity The UQ Business School is seeking to appoint a Teaching and Research academic in the Business Information Systems Discipline at Lecturer (Level B) or Senior Lecturer (Level C) level. This is an opportunity to join a vibrant and collaborative academic group at the forefront of Business Information Systems research, teaching and practice. You will contribute to high‑quality teaching and impactful research across core areas such as business analytics, data management, business process management, information systems design, strategy and management, while supporting Honours and Higher Degree by Research supervision. You will work closely with leading industry partners and internationally recognised scholars in a forward‑thinking environment that values innovation, influence and real‑world impact. The Business School has a strong strategic focus on sustainability, responsible management, innovation and emerging technologies, and welcomes applicants whose expertise aligns with these priorities. Key responsibilities will include: Teaching: Develop and deliver courses, engage in curriculum design, coordinate courses, assess students, provide academic counselling, and adhere to university teaching rules. Research: Establish a research program, collaborate on research projects, seek and manage research funding, publish in reputable journals, utilize best practice research methodologies, and participate in project discussions. Supervision and Researcher Development: Supervise students, recruit and manage employees, provide performance feedback and training, resolve conflicts, and ensure correct remuneration and benefits. Citizenship and Service: Develop partnerships, demonstrate leadership through mentoring, engage in internal service roles and committees, perform administrative functions, provide support to colleagues, and uphold university values. About you For appointment at Level B (Lecturer) , you will demonstrate: Completion of a PhD in Business Information Systems or a closely related discipline, or submission for examination. A growing profile in teaching and research within the Business Information Systems discipline. A developing publication record in high‑quality refereed journals, particularly within the AIS Basket of 11, and leading conferences such as ICIS, ECIS or PACIS. Evidence of successfully seeking, obtaining and managing external research funding. Demonstrated excellence in teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels across diverse learning environments. Engagement in meaningful internal service roles and external academic or professional activities. For appointment at Level C (Senior Lecturer) , you will additionally demonstrate: An established profile in teaching and research with national recognition in Business Information Systems and an internationally developing research reputation. A strong record of first‑authored publications in leading international journals and top‑tier conferences. Sustained success in attracting and managing external research funding. A proven track record of course coordination, curriculum leadership and continuous innovation in teaching and learning. Successful supervision of Honours and Higher Degree by Research students to completion. A growing leadership contribution through internal governance, mentoring and external engagement.
