About the Position: The incumbent will lead the St. Paul District's technical library, digital archives, and knowledge management programs. You will preserve historical documents, digitize cartographic and engineering records, and administer geospatial data systems like REAPER. By integrating library science, archival processing, and knowledge management, you will ensure critical mission data is organized, cataloged, and accessible to support engineering, construction, and mission operations. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Basic Requirement for CARTOGRAPHER: A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in cartography, or a degree with a major that included or was supplemented by at least 30 semester hours in cartography and/or directly related science, and related mathematics. Such course work includes, but is not limited to, cartography, astronomy, geodesy, photogrammetry, physical and geological oceanography, computer science, land surveying, geophysics, physical geography, and remote sensing. The 30 semester hours must have included at least 6, but no more than 15, semester hours of college level, non-business mathematics or statistics (i.e., college level algebra, trigonometry, calculus, or scientific mathematics or statistics requiring equivalent college-level courses as prerequisites). OR B. Combination of Education and Experience: Courses equivalent to a major in cartography, or a major that included or was supplemented by at least 30 semester hours in cartography, and/or directly related science, and related mathematics, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. Basic Requirement for LIBRARIAN: A. Completion of 1 full academic year of graduate study in library science in an accredited college or university, in addition to completion of all work required for a bachelor's degree; OR B. A total of at least 5 years of a combination of college-level education, training, and experience. To qualify on this basis, the applicant must establish conclusively that the education, training, and experience provided a knowledge and understanding of the theories, principles, and techniques of professional librarianship; a knowledge of literature resources; and the knowledge and abilities essential for providing effective library and information services. Basic Requirement for ARCHIVIST: A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in archival science; or bachelor's degree (or higher degree) with a major that includes 18 semester hours in archival science, history and/or in political science or government, and 12 semester hours in one or any combination of the following: archival science, history, American civilization, economics, political science, public administration, or government. OR B. Combination of Education and Experience: At least 30 semester hours of courses, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. Acceptable experience must have been in archival science, or in a directly related field of work such as history that involved the collection, appraisal, analysis, or synthesis of information having historical or archival values.
