While you are in the field, you will use a company provided vehicle and will work at various locations across the City. For more information, please visit the DOTI website .DOTI's Commitment to Equity:DOTI is committed to providing attention and resources to the areas, assets, and people of the city with the greatest need through equitable contracting, equitable investments, and equitable workforce development.DOTI's culture revolves around four key principles: (1) Invest in Our People, (2) Operate with Discipline, (3) Use Data to Drive Decisions, and (4) Deliver Results.Wastewater Management oversees all aspects of wastewater functions, including the construction, operation, and maintenance of the City's sanitary and storm systems, and responding to customer inquiries regarding sewage and storm drainage service charges.Specifically as a Wastewater Quality Control Technician you will:Collect a variety of liquids and materials according to regulatory requirements and good laboratory practice standards to ensure compliance with governmental and environmental regulations and engineering and construction specificationsEngage with the public and engage with interdepartmental communication.Operate, maintain, calibrate, and program a variety of measuring devicesDetermine what type of data is needed for collection and/or measurement based on regulatory protocolsConduct routine to difficult field analyses of bacteriological/environmental samples in storm water and investigate and identify the sources of storm water pollution using standardized proceduresPerform flow measurements on sanitary and storm water and sample sanitary sewage for industrial wasteIndependently manage daily routes, field schedules, and multiple concurrent sampling assignments while maintaining strong communication with the teamEngage professionally with industrial facilities and commercial establishments (such as food/beverage manufacturers and restaurants) and navigate occasional conflict or disagreement related to sampling results or surcharge impactsAssist in training and checking the work of other employees on various projectsOther duties as assigned (for example, conducting investigations that are unknown)Dental insuranceVision insurancePaid time offEquity / stock options
