About the role

You will serve as an INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the CIP BRANCH (CODE 983), PRODUCTION ENGINEERING & FACILITIES DIVISION, PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD. ***TEMPORARY POSTION NOT TO EXCEED 1 YEAR AND MAY BECOME PERMANENT WITHOUT FURTHER COMPETITION. *** GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying principles, techniques, concepts and practices pertaining to industrial engineering processes and functions to ensure objectives and requirements are met. Experience solving problems encountered while working with equipment and structures as related to industrial facilities. Experience analyzing engineering information to ensure that design, development, review, and implementation are completed satisfactorily. GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying problem solving techniques to resolve program deficiencies pertaining to industrial engineering processes and functions. Experience applying written and oral communication skills to prepare graphs and charts, and Job Material Lists (JML) to present findings and recommend solutions. Experience operating computer applications and database software.
