Assistant Sales Manager (Marine Chemicals)

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with ship owners, ship management companies, shipyards, and other maritime stakeholders.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand market share within the marine and offshore sectors.
• Promote the company's range of marine chemical products and technical solutions.
• Prepare and present quotations, proposals, and commercial offers to customers.
• Conduct regular client visits and provide product recommendations based on customer requirements.
• Work closely with technical and operations teams to ensure smooth order fulfilment and customer satisfaction.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify business opportunities.
• Achieve individual sales targets and contribute to overall business growth objectives.
• Support contract negotiations and maintain long-term customer relationships.
• Prepare sales forecasts, reports, and market intelligence updates for management.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Maritime Studies, Marine Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of sales, business development, or account management experience within the marine, shipping, offshore, or chemical industries.
• Understanding of marine chemicals, tank cleaning chemicals, water treatment solutions, maintenance chemicals, or related marine products would be advantageous.
• Strong commercial acumen and customer-focused mindset.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple customer accounts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
