Senior Assistant Director (Grant Management)

Responsibilities

• Support Grant Strategy & Programme Design with CSA
• Lead the design and implementation of grant programmes, including funding frameworks, thematic priorities, and evaluation approaches aligned with national cybersecurity objectives.
• Governance & Policy Development
• Establish and maintain strong policies, procedures, and controls to ensure transparency, compliance, and accountability in grant administration.
• Stakeholder Engagement
• Build and manage partnerships across universities, research institutes, industry, and government agencies to drive collaboration and alignment.
• Financial Stewardship
• Manage grant budgets and funding allocation, ensuring effective utilisation of resources and adherence to financial and audit requirements.
• Project Monitoring & Impact Delivery
• Oversee project performance, ensuring milestones, deliverables, and outcomes are achieved.
• Programme Improvement
• Continuously enhance grant frameworks and processes through data-driven insights, stakeholder feedback, and benchmarking against global best practices.
• Leadership & Team Development
• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team, fostering a high-performance culture and strong collaboration across functions.
• Job Requirements:
• Experience in public sector or national-level R&D programmes
• Familiarity with research translation, commercialisation, or innovation ecosystems
• Knowledge of financial governance, audit processes, and compliance frameworks
• At least a degree in a relevant field (e.g., cybersecurity, engineering, computer science, public policy, or related disciplines)
• At least 10 years of relevant experience in grant management, research administration, or programme management
• Proven experience in designing and managing funding programmes or large-scale initiatives
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging across academia, industry, and government
• Demonstrated leadership experience in managing teams and complex projects
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and decision-making capabilities
• Good-to-Have:
• Established network within the cybersecurity or technology community
• Strong understanding of research and innovation ecosystems, preferably in cybersecurity or deep technology domains
