JOB SUMMARY: The CNC Machinist II performs intermediate-level machining tasks with minimal supervision. This role involves programming, setting up and operating CNC dual-spindle lathes for low to medium volume precision machining. Interpreting complex drawings and collaborating across departments. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned. Develop and modify machining programs using CAM software (Mastercam preferred) Experience or familiarity operating CMX, NHX, DMU65, DMU50, and VCF CNC machines Design and build tooling, fixtures, and workholding solutions Perform machine setup including tooling offsets, work offsets, and prove-out of new programs Interpret complex engineering drawings, including GD&T Inspect in-process and finished parts using precision measuring equipment Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and process issues to improve quality and efficiency Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve technical challenges Operate basic shop equipment including bandsaws, manual lathes, mills, drill presses, and shears Maintain machines, tooling, and work areas in a clean and safe condition Follow all company safety procedures and support continuous improvement initiatives Mentor junior machinists and support skill development within the team
