Import & Export Logistics Coordinator LOCATION: Aylesford, Kent WORKING HOURS: 8am- 4.30pm, Office based CONTRACT: Full-time, Permanent Join Our Team We're looking for an experienced Import & Export Logistics Coordinator to join our growing team in Aylesford. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in international logistics, freight forwarding or supply chain operations who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. You'll play a key role in ensuring goods move efficiently across global supply chains, managing imports and exports from quotation through to delivery while maintaining compliance with customs regulations. Working closely with suppliers, freight forwarders, purchasing and warehouse teams, you'll help keep our operations running smoothly while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs. What You'll Be Doing Obtain and negotiate competitive freight quotations for import and export shipments. Arrange UK, European and international shipments by sea, air and road. Coordinate inbound deliveries with suppliers, the Purchasing Team and the Warehouse. Prepare and complete import and export customs documentation, ensuring compliance with current regulations. Monitor shipments from collection through to delivery, proactively resolving any delays or issues. Maintain accurate shipping records and update company systems. Analyse freight costs and identify opportunities to reduce transport spend. Monitor freight forwarder and haulier performance, ensuring service levels are maintained. Provide regular shipment updates and ETA information to Purchasing and Customer Care teams. Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers, freight forwarders and logistics partners. Produce monthly freight cost reports for senior management. Provide support across the International Logistics team, including holiday and sickness cover. What success looks like You'll become a trusted member of the team, building strong relationships, delivering excellent service and making a positive contribution to both your department and the wider business. What We're Looking for We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic, organised and enjoys working as part of a team. Ideally, you'll have: Previous experience within international logistics, freight forwarding, import/export or supply chain. Good knowledge of UK customs procedures and international shipping documentation. Experience coordinating sea, air and road freight. Understanding of Incoterms and international shipping processes. Strong negotiation skills with a commercial approach. Excellent organisational and administrative skills. Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint. A proactive approach with excellent problem-solving skills.
