Sr. FPGA Engineer, Direct to Device, Amazon Leo

Requirements

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• 5+ years of programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby experience
• Experience leading the design, automation, deployment, and support of large-scale infrastructure
• Experience with Linux/Unix
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
• Experience with modern ASIC/FPGA design and verification tools
• Experience in writing test scripts (Python preferred) to validate FPGA images in HW.
• 5+ years experience in FPGA design and Implementation using System Verilog.
• Experience with Xilinx/AMD (or Altera) FPGAs.
• Experience with uArchitecture, RTL coding, FPGA optimization for timing & power, simulation, and validation
• 6+ years of deploying and operating in a Linux/Unix environment experience
• Master's degree in computer science or equivalent
• Experience with phased array antennas and/or other complex RF systems
• Experience with high speed networking, SerDes, 50G/100G Ethernet or Interlaken
• Familiarity with AXI4 and AXI Streaming interfaces
• Proven track record of successfully fielding and supporting FPGA and ASIC products

Amazon Leo is a long-term Amazon program to increase global broadband access through a constellation of satellites in Low Earth Orbit (LEO); providing low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Direct-to-Device (D2D) is Leo's initiative to enable standard smartphones and IoT devices to connect directly to satellites, filling coverage gaps in remote areas. As an FPGA engineer for D2D, you will collaborate with systems architects, hardware engineering design teams & FW/SW teams to bring up and test complex systems combining FPGAs, custom ASICs, and RF.
