About the role

The Portfolio Manager is the client-facing delivery owner responsible for managing a portfolio of strategic accounts and programmes where OBZ partners with AWS Professional Services to go to market. This role sits at the intersection of delivery leadership, client relationship management, commercial governance, and executive escalation handling. You will act as the bridge between the client, client stakeholders, AWS Professional Services and OBZ delivery teams to ensure programmes are delivered successfully, commercially governed correctly, and escalations are resolved proactively. You will manage Statements of Work, delivery governance, stakeholder communication, contractual alignment, and portfolio health across multiple concurrent engagements. This is a senior operator role for someone who understands how enterprise programmes run in reality - balancing client expectations, delivery execution, commercials, risks, and executive relationships simultaneously. You are expected to operate confidently with CXO stakeholders, delivery leaders, architects, engineering teams, and partner organisations while maintaining accountability for delivery integrity and customer satisfaction. At OBZ, every leader is expected to use AI tooling and automation as a force multiplier in delivery operations, governance, reporting, and decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Portfolio & Delivery Management
  • Own and manage a portfolio of strategic enterprise programmes across AWS PS and OBZ engagements.
  • Ensure successful execution, governance, and delivery outcomes across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Track delivery health, programme risks, dependencies, milestones, escalations, and commercial status across the portfolio.
  • Drive governance cadence including SteerCos, executive reviews, RAID management, status reporting, and delivery reviews.
  • Ensure delivery teams maintain quality, timelines, documentation, and operational discipline.
  • Client & Executive Stakeholder Management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with client executives including CIOs, CTOs, CDOs, Heads of Engineering, and programme sponsors.
  • Serve as the senior escalation point for delivery, commercial, and operational issues.
  • Handle sensitive client conversations with professionalism and commercial maturity.
  • Maintain executive visibility and confidence during programme execution.
  • Report weekly status and progress to senior OBZ and AWS ProServe leadership
  • Act as the bridge between client stakeholders, AWS teams, and OBZ delivery leadership.
  • Commercial & Contractual Governance
  • Own governance of SOWs, scope management, contractual alignment, and delivery obligations.
  • Ensure programmes are operating within agreed commercials, timelines, and contractual commitments.
  • Drive change requests, scope discussions, and commercial alignment proactively.
  • Partner with finance and account teams on invoicing, forecasting, collections, and revenue tracking.
  • Identify delivery or commercial risks early and drive mitigation plans.
  • Escalation & Risk Management
  • Lead resolution of critical delivery escalations and client concerns.
  • Coordinate across internal and external stakeholders to unblock delivery issues quickly.
  • Ensure risks are surfaced early with clear ownership and mitigation plans.
  • Protect client trust while maintaining delivery and commercial integrity.
  • Cross-functional Leadership
  • Work closely with delivery managers, architects, engineers, programme managers, AWS stakeholders, and leadership teams.
  • Provide delivery oversight and strategic direction across multiple squads and programmes.
  • Mentor delivery managers and junior programme leaders on governance, stakeholder handling, and commercial discipline.
  • Drive operational excellence and reusable delivery practices across the organisation.
  • Business Growth & Account Expansion
  • Support account growth through strong client relationships and successful programme execution.
  • Identify adjacent opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Collaborate with account and sales teams on renewals, expansions, and strategic pursuits.
  • Contribute to proposal reviews, delivery planning, and solution governance for new engagements.

  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise technology delivery, consulting, systems integration, or programme management.
