About the role

Do you want a role where you lead customs process improvement, building ALDI's readiness for what's next in an ever-evolving customs world? As a Customs Improvement & Process Lead within Aldi's Supply Chain function, you will help guide the team responsible for customs declarations, so Aldi goods move with confidence, efficiency, and readiness for legislative and operational change. You won't be processing declarations yourself. Instead, you'll own the customs improvement agenda: driving better ways of working, strengthening controls, partnering with stakeholders, and improving how we plan and route shipments so service levels are protected. We have 18 & 23-month FTCs available. Your New Role Own the process for managing ongoing and upcoming customs projects , ensuring delivery of improvement initiatives linked to customs efficiencies, enhancements, and legislative changes . Drive a proactive, risk-focused approach across the function by identifying legislation and regulatory risks and defining controls to manage them effectively. Drive continuous improvement by reviewing current customs ways of working , evaluating new initiatives/schemes and translating opportunities into clear action plans, and driving adoption where it benefits ALDI. Manage stakeholder expectations through strong internal and external relationship-building , aligning teams on priorities, impacts, and timelines. Partner with supply chain and logistics teams to review the supply chain from a customs perspective, recommending improved routing and approaches to maintain performance and service levels. About You An understanding of customs processes and requirements from either a logistics, buying or finance background. Experience working with customs data and knowledge of customs legislation Confident using Microsoft Offices packages (incl. Excel) Confident communicator with the ability to influence and build strong relationships across all levels and functions. Strong written and verbal communication skills ; comfortable explaining complex customs process changes in clear, practical terms. Proactive and solutions-focused, able to spot risks early and drive practical controls and improvements. Highly organised with strong planning and prioritisation skills , able to manage multiple workstreams and competing deadlines. Curious and continuously improvement driven , always looking for better ways of working and measurable results. Calm under pressure, with a structured approach to problem solving and decision-making. Comfortable working with stakeholders, bringing clarity and direction even when requirements or timelines shift. Detail-aware and governance-minded, able to maintain high-quality standards and drive consistency.
