About the role
The Function Platform Owner (FPO) is a pivotal individual contributor role at the intersection of supply chain operations and digital product development. As an FPO, you will own the end-to-end process and platform lifecycle for a defined portfolio - from ideation and solutioning through to delivery and scaled adoption. You will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders across technology, operations, and business to bring intelligent automation products to life within the Supply Chain Products (SCP) domain. This role demands someone who thrives in ambiguity, leads without formal authority, and is driven by outcomes rather than activity. You are expected to be both the strategic thinker and the hands-on executor who keeps the product moving.
Responsibilities
- Automation & Document Management
- Drive the Automation Charter for the Document Management portfolio under SCP, covering document classification, validation, and reconciliation checks across the SCP domain.
- Define and execute the automation roadmap in alignment with business priorities, ensuring consistent delivery against milestones.
- Identify automation opportunities through deep domain understanding and translate them into structured product requirements.
- Core Product Development
- Manage and prioritize the Core Document Management development backlog, ensuring features and fixes are sequenced effectively.
- Lead product discovery and definition sessions - articulating user problems, acceptance criteria, and success metrics.
- Partner with engineering teams to ensure delivery quality, technical feasibility, and on-time releases.
- End-to-End Solutioning
- Lead end-to-end solutioning for Air/LCL (Less-than-Container Load) and Cold Chain (CCL) verticals within the document management domain.
- Translate complex supply chain workflows into scalable platform solutions, with clearly defined process flows, integration touchpoints, and edge-case handling.
- Collaborate with domain SMEs to validate solutions and ensure fit-for-purpose design before development commitment.
- Stakeholder Management & Delivery
- Influence and align stakeholders across business, technology, and operations without direct authority.
- Proactively communicate product status, risks, and decisions to leadership and partners.
- Drive accountability across workstreams to maintain delivery timelines and quality standards.
Requirements
- Solid understanding of the Supply Chain domain - particularly in documentation workflows (e.g., Bills of Lading, Air Waybills, Cargo manifests) and freight operations (Ocean, Air, LCL, Cold Chain).
- Hands-on experience in automation workstreams - familiarity with document processing, OCR/AI-based classification, or similar intelligent automation technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to lead without authority - driving alignment and decisions across diverse, cross-functional teams.
- Strong solutioning skills - the ability to break down ambiguous problems into structured, actionable product definitions.
- Proficiency in writing product requirements, user stories, and process documentation .
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and business audiences.
- Good to Have
- Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or equivalent agile delivery platforms.
- Exposure to API integrations, data pipelines, or workflow orchestration tools.
- Understanding of cold chain logistics, temperature-controlled cargo management, or perishables handling.
- Mindset & Behaviors
- Self-starter who takes ownership and drives outcomes independently.
- Structured thinker who can zoom out for strategy and zoom in for detail.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and translating uncertainty into clarity.
- Collaborative and empathetic - builds trust with stakeholders at all levels.
