Part-Time Building Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Part-Time Building Maintenance Technician, working under the direction of the Property Manager, provides scheduled and on-call support to the full-time Property Maintenance Lead at a residential property located in the Kitchener-Waterloo area . This role helps ensure the smooth day-to-day operation, upkeep, and safety of the building while supporting a positive living environment for residents. Key Responsibilities - Respond to maintenance requests and emergency calls during coverage periods - Perform minor repairs and coordinate maintenance work (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, general upkeep) - Conduct basic inspections of building systems, common areas, and vacant units as required - Coordinate and oversee contractors and external service providers when required - Maintain cleanliness and general upkeep of common areas, including snow removal and exterior maintenance as required - Communicate professionally with tenants and respond to inquiries or concerns in a timely manner - Maintain basic records of completed work and provide updates to the Property Manager - Identify and report safety hazards and ensure compliance with health and safety standards - Perform other related duties as assigned Experience & Qualifications - Basic working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general maintenance repairs - Previous building or property maintenance experience considered an asset - Strong communication and customer service skills - Ability to work independently and respond effectively to urgent or emergency situations - Good organizational and problem-solving skills - Physically able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs - Knowledge of health and safety practices - Reliable and flexible with scheduling and on-call availability Benefits Competitive hourly wage Consistent part-time schedule with every other weekend and one evening shift per week Supportive and collaborative team environment Opportunity to work independently and make a meaningful impact on the resident experience Accommodations Kingsley Management Inc. is committed to providing an accessible and supportive recruitment experience for persons with disabilities.
