About the role

The Maritime Manufacturing Technology team is responsible for rapidly developing and implementing manufacturing technologies and processes for cutting-edge defense hardware, including deployable static and moving surface, undersea and sea to air vehicles and scaling these products in our new manufacturing facilities. As an Electrical Assembly Technician, you'll wear two hats. On the product side, you'll assemble panels and switchboards, pull and route cable, terminate connectors, hook up motors, and outfit marine compartments with complete electrical systems. On the facility side, you'll size transformers, run high-voltage feeds to CNC machines and production equipment, install distribution panels, and keep the shop floor powered and operational. You'll be expected to own the work from sizing through installation and energization.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble electrical panels, switchboards, junction boxes, and controller enclosures. Install components, wire per schematics, and dress/lace wiring.
  • Pull, route, and secure cable through compartment foundations, hangers, stuffing tubes, and penetrations.
  • Terminate cables at connectors, terminal blocks, lugs, and equipment interfaces.
  • Hook up motors, controllers, and actuators: verify phasing, megging, and continuity.
  • Support electrical testing.
  • Groom completed electrical systems for company, customer, and government inspections.
  • Install, wire, and terminate high-voltage equipment feeds for CNC machines, welding equipment, overhead cranes, and production tooling.
  • Size and install transformers (480V to 240V step-down) for production equipment requirements.
  • Install conduit, cable tray, wireways, and raceways per NEC.
  • Wire distribution panels, disconnects, motor starters, and VFDs.
  • Perform facility electrical troubleshooting and repair - identify faults, replace components, restore service.
  • Coordinate with equipment vendors on power requirements, connection diagrams, and commissioning.
  • Ensure all facility electrical work meets NEC, OSHA, and local code requirements.
  • Complete hardcopy and electronic documentation: assembly travelers, test records, cable logs, termination sheets.
  • Maintain compliance with NAVSEA, SUBSAFE, and SOC requirements as applicable to submarine electrical systems.
  • Red-line drawings and report discrepancies through proper channels.
  • REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 7+ years of electrical experience: industrial, shipboard, or manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, single-line diagrams, and cable schedules.
  • Experience with 480V 3-phase and 208/240V single- and 3-phase systems - installation, termination, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience pulling, routing, and terminating electrical cable.
  • Proficiency with wire harness fabrication: crimping, soldering, connector assembly.
  • Working knowledge of NEC for facility electrical installations.
  • Experience using meggers, multimeters, hi-pot testers, and phase rotation meters.
  • Willing to work any shift and overtime as production requires.
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Requirements

  • California licensed electrician (journeyman or master).
  • Experience with NAVSEA, SUBSAFE, or SOC-controlled electrical systems.
  • Military shipbuilding, submarine, or naval shipyard experience.
  • IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification (Certified IPC Specialist or Trainer).
  • Experience sizing and installing transformers and coordinating protective devices.
  • Background in CNC machine or heavy industrial equipment electrical hookup.
  • Background in aerospace, defense, or AS9100 / ISO 9001 environments.
  • US Hourly Range
  • $112,000 - $149,000 USD
