  • Process full cycle of leave of absence management which includes investigation, extensive case management and coordination of STD/LTD benefits.
  • Independently maintain up-to-date knowledge of leave laws, policies, collective bargaining agreements and current practices.
  • Independently approves and/or denies leave cases according to policy based on relevant medical information.
  • Maintain well-organized electronic records that promote accuracy and compliance.
  • Coordinate and organizes all medical information and ensure that HIPAA and Employee Privacy guidelines are closely monitored and effectively executed.
  • Communicate, counsel, answer questions and provide leave guidance to employees and managers in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Maintain active communication with the Total Rewards HR Community, HR, Leave of Absence and Disability Partners, Occupational Health, Legal, and Payroll facilitating proper knowledge transfer and maintaining alignment between leave of absence strategy development and execution.
  • Provide transactional absence management process changes to employee data, review and analyze HR data for accuracy and compliance purposes.
  • Manage and processes employee transactions related to leaves, ensuring all actions are documented properly in Workday and ServiceNow.
  • Review, process and record ADA Reasonable Accommodation requests in collaboration with Legal.
  • Monitor and respond to Zoom calls, emails and Workday tickets throughout the work day.
  • Proactively and continuously identify, recommend, and implement leave process improvements
  • Back up for other Leave Team members while out of office
  • Ensures that all reportable workers' compensation claims are submitted appropriately.
  • Actively participate in workers' compensation meetings.
  • Audit timecards for employees on leave of absence.
  • Responsible for receiving, addressing, and escalating leave program questions via the Employee Service Center
  • Support leave management needs from the HR Community as needed, providing data and support for usage, benchmarking, and cost analysis.
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent sitting, occasional standing & walking, and lifting of 5-10 lbs.
  • A valid driver's license is required for local travel to remote hospital sites, and the like.
  • Mental requirements will be intense at times with involvement in many concurrent multi-faceted projects.
  • Requires manual dexterity using fine hand manipulation to operate a computer keyboard or related equipment
  • Requires ability to see computer screen, monitoring equipment and reports.
  • Skills & Abilities:
  • Specialized knowledge in Leave Administration, HR Operations, HR Service Delivery, Benefits, and HRIS.
  • Strong working knowledge and application of federal and state disability and paid family leave laws (i.e., ADA, FMLA, PFML, Parental Leave, Workers Compensation and other state/local regulations).
