Integrated Photonics Team leader

Responsibilities

• As Integrated Photonics Team Leader, you will own and drive Quix Quantum's photonic hardware stack and platform strategy. You will:
• Lead, manage, and mentor a multidisciplinary integrated photonics team (design, layout, and research), ensuring technical excellence and high-quality documentation.
• Own the end-to-end photonic hardware stack , including photonic circuits, electronics/ASIC interfaces, detectors, packaging, and characterisation.
• Drive platform and PDK development , focusing on fabrication-robust design, tolerance analysis, and optimisation.
• Manage relationships with photonic foundries , including wafer-run planning, process splits, PCM/DCM definition, and mask sign-off.
• Support assembly, packaging, and hybrid photonic-electronic integration.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with systems, electronics, software, characterisation, quantum science teams, and external partners.
• What You Bring
• Education
• PhD in Integrated Photonics, Microelectronics, Applied Physics , or a closely related field.
• Strong academic background in integrated photonics.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in integrated photonics design and development .
• Proven experience leading and mentoring technical teams .
• Demonstrated success taking PIC designs through full fabrication cycles with industrial foundries, including Si, SiN, and EO modulator platforms .
• Experience with PDK or photonic platform development , including robustness and fabrication tolerance analysis.
• Strong understanding of optical, electrical, and thermal co-design and integration .
• Hands-on experience with assembly, packaging, and chip-level integration .
