About the role
As a Data Scientist, you will be an integral part of our dedicated analytics team, focused on supporting the development of data-driven insights and tools that help Caterpillar and its customers navigate the energy transition. You will work with a range of stakeholders, including Business Development, Marketing, and Engineering teams, to analyse machine and operational data and contribute to the development of customer-focused analytics solutions. What will you do Work with cross-functional teams (Business Development, Marketing, Engineering) to understand data requirements and support analysis activities. Analyse machine and operational datasets (including telematics data) to identify patterns in usage, performance, and energy consumption. Support the development of analytical models (e.g. forecasting, optimisation, or TCO calculations) to inform business decisions. Contribute to the development of data-driven tools and visualisations to help communicate insights to stakeholders. Assist in gathering, cleaning, and transforming data from multiple sources, including internal systems and APIs. Present findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences with guidance from senior team members.
