Reporting directly to the Head of Networks & Communications, the Enterprise Network Architect will be the senior technical authority and delegated Design Authority for network architecture across St Vincent's. While the initial focus supports a critical 24-month roadmap design project, this role is intended to be ongoing to govern our evolving digital landscape. You will be based in any of our Group Head Offices in Sydney, Brisbane, or Melbourne on a hybrid working arrangement - 3 days a week in the office and 2 days working from home . Key responsibilities of the role: Act as the lead for network architecture, owning enterprise principles, standards, and multi-year roadmaps aligned with clinical and digital strategies. Provide architectural leadership for a multimillion-dollar portfolio, including hospital redevelopments, SD-WAN uplift, and cloud connectivity. Act as a trusted advisor to the CTO and D&T leadership, ensuring network designs support patient safety and clinician workflows. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and cybersecurity frameworks while driving remediation of technical debt. Evaluate emerging technologies like SASE and AI-driven operations to modernise platforms across hospitals and aged care. Things that work for us: 10+ years of experience in enterprise network architecture or senior engineering within complex, multi-site environments. Demonstrated experience designing large-scale LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, and SD-WAN architectures. Deep understanding of network security, including zero trust principles and micro-segmentation. Professional certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or Azure Networking AZ-700. A collaborative mindset with the ability to translate clinical requirements into resilient technical designs. Owns and governs enterprise network principles, standards, reference architectures and target-state designs. Defines and maintains multi-year network roadmaps aligned to SVHA's digital, clinical and infrastructure strategies. Provides final architectural sign-off for complex network designs, new site developments and major uplift programs. Embeds security-by-design, resilience and zero trust principles into all architectural outcomes. ENTERPRISE PROGRAM & PROJECT ENGAGEMENT Provides architectural leadership across a multimillion-dollar portfolio of enterprise programs including NetMod, hospital redevelopments, cloud and data centre connectivity, Wi-Fi and SD-WAN uplift, and virtual health expansion. Partners with program directors, project managers and delivery leads to translate strategic intent into implementable, supportable designs. Leads architectural options analysis, cost modelling, risk assessment and technical decision-making for business cases and investment proposals. Reviews and assures low-level designs produced by vendors and delivery teams to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture. Ensures solutions are operationally ready through structured service transition, documentation, runbooks and knowledge transfer.
