About the role

The U.S. International Trade Commission is an independent Federal agency that provides the President and Congress with high-quality analysis and technical support on international trade, tariff and competitiveness issues; investigates and makes determinations in proceedings involving imports claimed to injure a domestic industry or violate U.S. intellectual property rights; and maintains the U.S. Harmonized Tariff Schedule. These are used to determine if you possess the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities to successfully perform in this position. To qualify for the GS-15, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal Service that includes: expertise in providing significant advice and having substantial interaction on or with Management and their staff on a diverse range of matters including, international trade, economics, legal analysis and budget issues. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through national service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
