You will: Lead with impact: Provide strategic leadership across communications, ministerial servicing, official information, and correspondence, ensuring alignment with Ministry priorities and statutory obligations Shape the future: Design and embed an integrated, agile operating model that strengthens capability, consistency, and risk management across the Ministry, while maintaining strong central oversight Drive excellence and accountability: Ensure delivery meets the highest standards for transparency, Official Information Act requirements, and parliamentary processes Build high-performing teams: Inspire and grow a flexible workforce, fostering a culture where people thrive and collaborate to deliver outstanding results Influence at senior levels: Work closely with Ministers' offices, senior leaders, and stakeholders to provide trusted advice and ensure effective delivery. Ko ngā pūkenga ōu - What you'll bring You will be an experienced senior leader who has operated at scale in complex public sector environments, with a strong track record of leading through change and delivering results in high‑pressure, high‑accountability contexts. You will bring: Significant senior leadership experience in strategic communications, engagement, and government service delivery functions Proven experience leading business transformation, including embedding new operating models and technology-enabled ways of working across a complex organisation Experience leading leaders, building capability, and shaping high‑performing, connected teams Deep understanding of the machinery of government, including working at the political interface and delivering on ministerial and statutory obligations Strong judgement and credibility, with the ability to operate confidently with Ministers' offices, senior leaders, and diverse stakeholders Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex issues into clear, practical advice and key messages A strong delivery focus, with the ability to manage competing priorities, navigate ambiguity, and maintain performance under pressure.
