- Current Montana RN license or a multi-state compact license with authorization to practice nursing within the state of Montana; required. BSN preferred.
- Healthcare Provider (BLS) within 7 days of hire/transfer or before independent patient care, whichever comes first, required.
- Knowledge of equipment, supplies, and instruments used in a medical office, simple routine clinical laboratory methods, universal blood and body fluid precautions.
- Must have knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations, established protocol for storing poisons, narcotics, acids, caustics, and flammable items; restriction imposed by various manage care carriers, various forms inherent to profession.
- Understanding of the confidentiality laws that govern the provider-patient relationship, including but not limited to HIPAA guidelines.

- Job Specific Duties:
- Develops, implements and coordinates individualized, goal directed nursing care to patients using the nursing process as appropriate for RN's as applicable to the assigned area(s).
- Maintains nursing standards of care and responds to changing workloads and patient conditions by remaining calm, making objective assessments, prioritizing, and asking for assistance as appropriate.
- Transcribes and implements provider orders and treatments both verbal and written accurately and efficiently as noted by chart reviews and observation. Consistently problem solves issues affecting patient care.
- Exhibits a thorough practice of infection control procedures per policy and procedure as applicable to the assigned area(s).
- As applicable to assigned area(s); Performs clinical testing using a variety of automated and non-automated techniques; collects, packages, and accurately labels all specimens immediately upon receipt; forwards to designated lab(s) according to established protocols.
- Provides individual instruction to patients and families concerning health and medical needs via telephone triage and/or patient visit.
- Performs administrative duties to include protocol review, clinical education, clinical competencies, and clinical onboarding.
- Exhibits competency in telephone triage, abnormal diagnostics and/or lab results, assesses the problem, and plans the appropriate interventions in coordination with providers. Utilizes nursing judgment to recommend minor self-care management interventions at home. Documents triage calls in EMR.
