Shop Technician

About the role

The Shop Technician Level 1 is responsible for evaluating, repairing, and testing submersible wastewater pumps in a shop environment. This role includes both mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, with product-specific training provided. This is an entry-level, development-focused role with strong growth potential. Core Responsibilities Evaluate, repair, and test submersible wastewater pumps Perform basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting Operate shop equipment (forklifts, overhead cranes, etc.) Use hand and power tools safely and effectively Accurately document work in the work-order system Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment Work both independently and as part of a team Support a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement

Requirements

• Education:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Trade school or technical training (electromechanical or related) preferred but not required
• 0-2 years of technical or hands-on experience
• Open to recent graduates or individuals early in their careers
• Basic to intermediate electrical and mechanical aptitude
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to read and understand technical information
• Comfortable using computers, tablets, and basic software tools
• Work Environment
• Industrial shop setting requiring PPE (including hard hats, etc.)
• Exposure to noise, machinery, and occasional hazardous materials
• Physical requirements include standing and lifting up to 50 lbs
• Overtime and some travel may be required
