About the role

Birkbeck, University of London, has an opportunity for an Associate Tutor to join the teaching team and support its Business School this coming Autumn 2026 and Spring 2027. We are seeking an Associate Tutor to teach across the seven foundational law subjects, with a particular focus the following module: Tort Law Autumn term: Wednesdays, 6-7:30pm, teaching in-person Spring term: Mondays, 6-7:30pm, teaching in-person You will have the relevant specialist legal knowledge to teach on the above law module(s). You will be qualified with an LLM (or related postgraduate degree) with either an LLB (or similar qualification that covers the 7 foundations of legal knowledge,) or equivalent professional experience. Remuneration : Payment is based on an hourly rate depending on length of continuous service with the College, starting rate £61.39 per hour inclusive of pro-rata London Allowance and holiday pay, for contact hours worked. This hourly rate is based on the starting point of Grade 6 and is inclusive of a 'Duties Related to Teaching Multiplier' at 2.5, which covers preparation, teaching, administration, assessment marking and other examining duties in connection with the course.
