Responsibilities

  • Business Development
  • Develop and maintain relationships with shipowners, buyers, investors, operators, and financial institutions.
  • Identify new business opportunities within the global Sale & Purchase market.

  • Analyse fleet movements, newbuilding activity, demolition trends, and market developments.
  • Advise clients on investment opportunities and market timing.
  • Client Relationship Management
  • Build trusted relationships with existing and prospective clients.
  • Understand clients' fleet expansion, disposal, and investment strategies.
  • Provide professional advice on vessel acquisitions and disposals.
  • Maintain regular communication with international clients across different time zones.
  • Transaction Coordination
  • Coordinate inspections, surveys, and sea trials.
  • Liaise with classification societies, flag administrations, legal advisors, banks, insurers, and technical managers.
  • Coordinate documentation, deposits, escrow arrangements, and closing procedures.
  • Ensure all contractual obligations are fulfilled prior to vessel delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Maritime Studies, Shipping, Business, Finance, or related discipline.
  • Prior experience in Shipbroking, Sale & Purchase, Chartering, Commercial Shipping, or Vessel Operations is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of shipping markets and vessel types.
  • Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness and business development mindset.
  • Ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced international environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Role Overview The Sale & Purchase (S&P) Shipbroker is responsible for originating, negotiating, and concluding vessel sale and purchase transactions on behalf of shipowners, investors, financial institutions, and buyers.
