Job Overview The Prescription Renewal Pharmacy Technician provides support to the pharmacists at the Centralized Prescription Renewal site in managing the refill authorization process using approved guidelines and protocols. The Technician receives electronic refills, phone calls, faxes, and other forms of communication to process medication-related requests. The Technician assists in the submission of medication prior authorizations and communicates directly with patients, pharmacies, and insurance plans. T he technician works with staff to promote AltaMed's pharmacy services to our patients to help improve medication adherence and patient outcomes. Minimum Requirements A high school diploma or equivalent is required. California Board of Pharmacy Technician License, and in good standing. A minimum of 1 year of experience as a CA Board pharmacy technician or related pharmacy experience is required. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred. A valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines. Reliable transportation is required.
