About the role
A competitive salary is available for an outstanding candidate An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Professor with a strong industrial background to join the School of Engineering, Mathematics and Physics to provide leadership and co-ordination in our key focus areas, formation of engineering graduates and supporting engineering businesses. Experience in energy transitions, offshore infrastructure, engineering innovation and management would be advantageous. You will take a prominent role in the life of the School, supporting our research strategy and efforts to secure external funding. Your responsibilities will include the teaching and assessment of specific topics in your area of expertise as well as collaborating with colleagues to improve our graduate outcomes. You will be expected to maintain a high profile as a leader in your professional field and promote enterprise and engagement at UEA. You will have a good first degree in engineering supported by significant technical achievement in a professional environment; a higher degree would be advantageous. Relevant experience in R&D or fostering engagement with research organisations is essential. You will also be able to demonstrate a high level of commitment to professional training and development of staff, with Chartered status highly desirable. Previous experience of managing enterprise and engagement projects would be advantageous. This part-time (0.2 FTE) post is available from 1 August 2026 on a fixed term basis for up to four years.
