Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing and reviewing import documentation for compliance with CBP regulations.
  • Coordinate with customs brokers to ensure timely and accurate shipment processing.

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in customs compliance, logistics, or international trade.
  • Skilled understanding of U.S. import regulations and HTSUS.
  • Knowledge with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to learn and grow within the trade compliance field.
  • Proficient experience working with customs brokers or freight forwarders.
  • High understanding of free trade agreements, country of origin rules, or duty drawback programs.
  • Has obtained or in process of obtaining Customs Broker License (CLB), preferred.

Additional Information

The Trade Compliance Specialist works as an integral member of the Fortune Brands Innovations Customs team. This role will assist with the day-to-day operations for all Trade Compliance and Customs related activities for the company's global divisions located in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and China. Location: This role is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, reporting to the Deerfield HQ Tues-Thurs, with the option to work remotely on Monday & Friday.
